Dr Tommie Steenkamp:
Tommie graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 2012. He completed his community service year the following year in the picturesque town of Sabie in Mpumalanga. This town was the perfect choice for Tommie as he loves spending time in nature. He returned to Cape Town, where he also grew up, and started working in private dental practice in 2014. He had the privilege of working with the well-known Dr Gert van Staden for 5 years before deciding to open his own practice with his lovely wife, Mariandie. In this time, Tommie gained valuable experience in general private practice dentistry while using state of the art technology. “I have always enjoyed implant dentistry.” Tommie decided to do a post-graduate diploma in Implantology which he completed in 2018.
“Why dentistry?” people often ask him to whom he eagerly responds: “I knew I wanted to be a dentist since I was 15 years old. I enjoy being able to make a difference in someone’s life. There is nothing more rewarding than creating beautiful smiles!”
During weekends Tommie enjoys spending time with Mariandie, his friends and family. He is fond of the outdoors, likes being active and enjoys exploring all the hidden treasures of our beautiful country. He appreciates good red wine, even more so with a perfectly braaied karoo lamb dish. Tommie is enthusiastic about the ocean and the wonder thereof.
