OUR SERVICES

Oral examination and treatment plan:

Full oral examination and documentation of the patient’s current oral health status. We then do a complete treatment plan according to the patient’s needs. We discuss our findings with the patient and give advice on treatment options and recommend the best possible treatment for the individual.

Pantomogram X-ray:

The Pantomogram X-ray unit produces a high quality X-ray image of the teeth, jaws and related anatomical structures. Important anatomical features that can be seen on a Pantomogram include the teeth, the upper and lower jaws, nerves, sinuses and the TMJ joint to name a few. This technology allows proper investigation of possible diseases/ pathologies in the facial regions and allows accurate differential diagnoses and treatment planning.

Scale and polish:

Professional cleaning of teeth helps reduce gum disease by removing germs that may cause bad breath and even bleeding and swollen gums. Removing debris and tartar from the teeth and gums reduce irritation of the gums which may, if left untreated, cause teeth to become loose with time. Professional cleaning helps to maintain healthy teeth and gums.

Restorations:

Our high quality materials, together with our skilled dentists, make it possible to restore your teeth to a very healthy looking, natural appearance. We use composite (tooth coloured restorative materials) to restore your teeth for a superior aesthetic outcome.

Crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays:

These are porcelain coverings cemented onto teeth. These restorations or caps allow a very strong long term restoration. These are superior in quality compared to normal restorations as porcelain is much stronger than composite. Big old fillings or badly broken teeth will require porcelain coverings for long term strength, aesthetics and function. These covering are highly aesthetic.

The difference between a crown, bridge, inlay and onlay:

A crown covers the entire tooth. We prepare the tooth and a porcelain covering is cemented very accurately onto the tooth.
A bridge: This is a fixed option when someone has lost a tooth. The two teeth, adjacent to the area where the tooth is missing, are prepared using the dental hand piece. The prepared teeth act as anchors for the bridge. A pontic or false porcelain tooth is attached to the anchor teeth in the middle. The outcome is a highly aesthetic fixed 3 unit porcelain bridge to replace a missing tooth.
An Inlay: An inlay is used to replace an old filling or part of the tooth, usually not too big and in the middle of the tooth. It has higher strength and aesthetic properties compared to conventional fillings.
An onlay: In cases where a larger part of the tooth broke, we cover a specific part of the tooth with porcelain. In these cases the fracture or missing part of the tooth is still small enough that an entire crown is not necessary.

Endodontics:

In cases where a cavity progressed and reached the vital structure of a tooth, the tooth pulp forms an inflammatory process and can become infected with bacteria. This process can also occur after severe trauma to a tooth. The pulpal tissue and nerves need to be removed and cleaned to prevent infection. These canals are then sealed to prevent future pain and infection. Root canal treatment is often the last treatment option to save a tooth.

Dentures and partial dentures:

A denture is a prosthesis made to replace missing teeth. A full denture replaces all the teeth of a specific arch. A partial denture replaces a number of teeth but not of all the teeth on a specific arch.

Implantology:

Patients who have lost a tooth/teeth often do not like the idea of having a removable prosthesis in their mouths. Dental implants are the most common and popular treatment option when you have a missing tooth. An implant is inserted in the jaw where the tooth is missing. The implant integrates with bone and becomes the “root” of the new artificial tooth. A porcelain crown accurately attaches to the implant providing you with a new natural looking artificial tooth.
